This French Catholic wpman was the parent of five nuns, including Saint Thérèse of Lisieux. She and her husband, Louis, both thought about entering religious life but discerned marriage was their vocation instead. Shortly after, they met each other and were married. A few years after their youngest, Thérèse, was born, Zélie died of cancer — leaving Louis to raise their five daughters. He did so beautifully and, after all his daughters had left except Céline, he died peacefully with Céline by his side. Saints Louis and Zelie were the first married couple to be canonized together.
